New Line of Corona Tools Great for Gardening
Corona Clipper gave garden writers a sneak peek of its new line of products at the Garden Writers Symposium in Dallas last month. The manufacturer of gardening tools used ‘Innovation for Seasons to Come’ as its theme for the trade show.
The trade show at this year’s Garden Writers Symposium featured many new products and I came home with a duffel bag full of great gardening gear to trial and write about for next season. But I was blown away by the display and giveaways at the Corona Clipper booth.
Since the 192os, Corona Clipper has manufactured professional and consumer gardening tools. You’d think after all those years the company would run out of ideas, but it looks like they’re just getting started.
The theme for the trade show was ‘Innovations for Seasons to Come’ and the company used that theme to introduce its new product line and vision for the future.
Ode to a gardening tool: my Leatherman
The Leatherman Hybrid pruner multi-tool features 11 tools in one and I was lost in the garden without it.
One of the best gardening gifts I’ve ever received is the Leatherman Hybrid pruner. John gave it to me several years ago for my birthday and it’s the best multi-purpose gardening tool a gal could have.
In addition to the pruning shears, it has two screwdrivers, a saw, a grafting knife, weeder, bottle opener, wire cutter and more.
I’ve carried my Leatherman with me every time I walked out of the garage and into the garden since I first unwrapped it. I’ve used it for just about every kind of pruning and clipping, digging weeds, sawing branches and cutting, cutting, cutting.
It has a nifty sheath with a clip for a belt, but because it folds up so neatly I just slip it into my pocket while doing chores.
Gardening tool runs circles around weeds
The circlehoe is a gardening tool for weeding and cultivating close to plants without harming delicate roots.
Many years ago when I first started gardening, I had only a few tools: a round shovel, a heavy-duty rake and a traditional wide-blade hoe.
When I hoed my garden to get rid of weeds, I dug in hard and ended up chopping up some of the very plants I was trying to protect.
I wish I would’ve had a circlehoe back then.
The circlehoe is another one of my favorite gardening tools because it doesn’t let me make deadly mistakes in the garden. Unlike my old hoe, the circular design of its head lets me do close-in weeding without worrying about accidentally chopping down a plant or hurting its foliage.
In fact, chopping is a thing of the past. The circlehoe requires only a smooth pulling and slicing move to make fast work of the dreaded weeding chore. Very slick.
